"So, what am I supposed to transport across the whole Sprawl?" A legitimate question in my opinion. But Jac immediately shook his head.

"You don't need to concern yourself with that. However, I can tell you that it doesn't emit any radiation, or causes mutations. Satisfied?"

I wasn't! But since I needed the money, what choice was there but to accept anyway?

"This job better pay well!" "Don't worry, it does." assured me Jac. "It pays very well. You get 40,000 Creds now, and twice that amount when you deliver your package." 120k Creds? That was a nice sum... but: "Why would anyone pay that much to get a package across Sprawl? I don't like this, Jac!" "Stop being so suspicious all the time, Mal. Ok, the job has its risk. And my client wants this treated with the utmost discretion. Hence the payment. So, relax!" He sat down at the deck. "Here let me show you what you'll have to do." He started typing into the deck's auxiliary keyboard... reminding me once again that Jac was one of the very few people without cyber ports. Their bodies just couldn't accept any cyberware whatsoever... Poor bastards!

"Are you listening?" I snapped out of my thoughts, turning towards Jac. "I am now." Jac sighed. "As I was saying, and showing you on the screen. You go to Pendleton InterSprawlMetro station, open lockbox A-211 - here take the key, take the package and deliver it to another lockbox in the southern Sprawl district. A box in Austin ISM station, number T-533. How you get there is your business. You'll have to evade any attempt at scanning the package tho." FUCK! That meant that a metro ride to the Austin station was out of the question... Stupid internal metro car scans. Oh well, I heard a surface Sprawl drive was nice this time of year, when the toxins in the air really made the sky shine!

"Also you'll have to thwart any attempt at taking the package from you." Jac continued. "You think there'll be such attempts?" I asked. Jac shrugged. "I'm not sure. You best prepare for anything." I tapped on my trusty sidearm. "With my good old AHG, I'm always prepared."

"If you say so. Well, let's go through the mission planning again, shall we?"

Now I remembered why I quit the army. I HATE mission briefings!
